OCTOBER MEANS “APPLEFEST”

APPLEFEST - FUN FOR ALL AGES

Always, the first weekend of October, Cedaredge comes alive with music, food, art and more. Originally called Harvest Festival, AppleFest's main theme is the celebration of one great fall event - the apple harvest. We still celebrate the apple harvest, but with small town flair, we stretch it out a few days. Thousands of locals and visitors flock to Cedaredge to enjoy over 150 booths, classic car show, antique tractor show, and much more.

The Surface Creek Valley boasts some of the most delicious apples you ever sank your teeth into - varieties like Honey Crisp, Fuji, Golden Delicious...... can be seen hanging from trees as you drive up and down the peaceful country roads. With orchards becoming a thing of the past in some parts of the country, the Surface Creek Valley is still home to both large and small apple orchards.

AppleFest is sponsored by the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce. The celebration actually begins on the Thursday before with a Chili Cook-off which is a major fundraiser for the Cedaredge Volunteer Fire Department. Friday night brings the Golden Gala - Cedaredge's social event of the year. Dress is "Cedaredge formal" (which translates to everything from jeans to tuxedos) for an evening of fabulous food, drink, dancing and great music.

Bright and early Saturday morning, continuing through Sunday afternoon, the Cedaredge Town Park comes alive with activity. It is a fun weekend for all. Make your plans to be here this October and celebrate with us.
