Christmas Parade of Lights
Every year on the first Saturday evening in December, Cedaredge
welcomes Santa with a “Parade of Lights”. You can expect to watch
a variety of vehicles, from fire trucks and trash removal trucks to
ATV’s and automobiles, brightly arrayed in decorations and lights.
Combined with home crafted floats, marching units, and canine troops,
the Jolly Old Elf is escorted into town with style. Santa’s mode of
transportation is always a surprise. Some years he chooses a convertible,
sometimes a four-wheeler, and most recently a motorcycle side-car.
And he always takes time out from his busy schedule to sit on the porch
of the Chamber of Commerce office, listen to what the little ones want
for Christmas, and pose for pictures.
Children of all ages anticipate
this annual event to officially begin the Christmas season in the
Surface Creek Valley.
